Look Alikes

This young family is on the grow.  They have the most adorable little guy already and now mama is expecting another in the fall.  There was a lot going on at my house the day we did this shoot.  We started out a couple weeks ago with an in studio session but, waited until a warmer day to head outside.  I named this post "Look Alikes" because of the last photo in the post.  He is definitely Daddy's little mini me.  Enjoy!

(which means good ) in French

No picture involved today.  Although, I could post one from our trip this week to Hershey Pa.  We ( Wrenn and I)  went with my good friend, her mother, her children and her youngest brother.  But, that would mean going back over to the house and getting my camera.  I took it today when we went to Glen Burnie today to pick out dresses for my oldest daughters wedding this October.  Wow! What a trip.  Image taking all four of your oldest daughters and two other bridesmaids to decide which dress and color will make everyone of them look amazing.  I know what was I thinking having that many daughters??  Well, they were cute when they were little.  It's kind of like having kittens.  But, like my mother always said "They grow up."  And not that they aren't cute now (they are beautiful)  it's just that now they have their own opinions and I can't make them see things my way anymore.  Ok...so now I really need to attach a picture or two here after all.

2011 Mar-Del Watermelon Queen Jordan Calloway

You know every once in a while God will really make an extra special person just to show off.  Just kidding but, I honestly think he was at the top of his game the day he created this wonderful young lady. She is the type of person that makes you want to be a better person.  The kind that brings out the best in those around her.  She is so down to earth and kind to everyone that you just can't help but love her.  She is the 2011 Mar-Del Watermelon Queen --Miss Jordan Calloway.

Family Tradition

Every family has a story and this family is no exception.  The Collins Family have been farmers for longer than most people remember.  Mr. Collins (George), farmed with his father when he was a boy.  He eventually bought a farm of his own and had his own son.  Mark carried on the tradition.  Here Mr. Collins, Mark and Zac  pose for a photo with the 1948 Model A tractor that was recently given to Zac by his grandfather.  The family farms here in Laurel and grows the best watermelon I have ever tasted.  Enjoy!

So....I was so warned by mom that this little missy would be a challenge.  Me, being the confident mother of 5, said not a problem...I have 5 children of my own....I can handle anything.   She is the cutest darn thing  ever but, I have met my match and so have mom and dad.  We had a blast.  I couldn't help but laugh.  She is such a character.  And the drama and faces she can make.  Here are a few that she let me get in.  Enjoy!

The B man came today with his family for a session.  His sister and mom are on the post above.  He loves animals and can tell you all kinds of facts about them.  I was really surprised that he knew so much.  He fell in love with Tom (our new turkey) and didn't want to leave him.  Here he is looking for ants and trying to bait them with food.  He was such a good sport today and I look forward to working with their family again.  Enjoy!

Things I Love

It's official ....Spring has Sprung!  The daffidoodles (as my girls called them when they were little) are blooming and the smell of warmer days is in the air.  This Spring is going to need a lot of care...my yard is in need of some serious attention.  The neighbors dog (the setter)  thinks he lives at our house.  Kind of a neat set up since he eats at home but, comes to our house to play.  He also eats all types of balls at our house ie...soccer and softballs mostly.  The Tom is our newest addition.  For whatever reason my husband seems to think that a pig, horse, dogs, cats, rabbits and chickens was not enough around here.  So....Tom came to live with us.  I think he really needs a  girlfriend since here he was showing his stuff for the dogs.  I think he's confused or maybe he's just settling for what is here.

ESBT Snow White 2011

The ESBT is performing the ballet Snow White.   Here are some images I captured during dress rehearsals.  Again, as with the Nutcracker, ESBT has done an outstanding job of bringing wonderful performances right here to the Eastern Shore.  All images can be viewed at gingerspringerphotography.smugmug.com.   Enjoy!

The Family M

I know I know....we need the rain.  But...It should just rain in the middle of the night and not during the day.  This family wanted to do some outdoors photos today but,  the rain made that impossible so we stayed inside.  This little guy had more fun with my lens cap than anything else.  He likes to play the "give and take" game where he gives you something and then takes it right back.  He was amazed at the camera as well.  He would just sit there a stare at me while I had the camera up to my face.  (He probably thought I looked better that way).  Enjoy!

Little B man is turning a year old soon so Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Jamie brought him up for a session.  It was only his second time having cake and he was in love.  We laughed so hard at him that I had a time getting a focused shot.  He did what I have always dreamed of a little one doing with their cake.  He bent his little head down with no hands and took a bite.  After he got a good taste, he decided that hands would help get a bigger bite so he ate it by handfuls...he would clap and cake flew everywhere.  We eventually took him into the bathroom and put him in the tub.  So darn cute.   Enjoy!

Every time I get to photograph a new little one, it is such a joy.   I am always amazed at new fathers and how they don't seem to be nervous with their new little bundles.  This little lady had quite a fallowing.  Everyone wanted to be a part of her photo session.  She had grandmas and mommy and daddy and even an aunt come with her.  She was so good.  She definitely does not like her tummy.  We tried several times to get her to allow me put her on her tummy but, she was not having it.  So.....we stuck her in a bucket.   And there she slept happily ever after.  I hated to take her out she was so content but, we were fairly sure that buckets do not make good car seats.   Enjoy!
