Lori and Todd

Today was a wonderful day.  I was a little worn out from the weekend and my daughters wedding.  I had the pleasure of photographing this young couple.  They both serve our country in the armed forces.  Although, when we passed a snake on the path,  I had my doubts about Lori.  She was having no parts of that!   Can't say that I blame her.  They were so much fun.  The beginning of all sessions are a bit hard.  I, myself could talk to brick wall, but...most people have a hard time smiling and feeling comfortable with someone they just met five minutes earlier.  This session was no different.  But,  by the time we were fifteen minutes in,  they were starting to get more comfortable with me and I enjoying watching them tease one another.   Todd will be deployed next month and they wanted me to do a session before he left.  They apparently had been talking about having photos done and then happened to be driving behind me one day and there was my info big as life.  The rest is history.  Here are just a couple of their images from today.  Enjoy!

Harper Wedding 2011

Mr. and Mrs. Josh Harper

Yesterday on a beautiful Spring day, my second daughter and Josh Harper were wed.  The morning wasn't very promising but, things brightened up.  Although, we had hired photographer Cindy Rust and her assistant Anna to photograph the day it was hard for me not to pick up my camera to capture the day as well.  With the help of wonderful people like Craig and Jill Rice at Lakeside Nurseries who provided us with the beautiful lace cap hydrangeas, and Mr. Bunkie Burke who owns the awesome vintage ford, and Mr. and Mrs. Layton Ayers for letting us use their amazing property to do some after ceremony images,  I pulled off the first of my five daughters weddings. The day was wonderful and I am grateful to all of those who made the day possible for Erika and Josh.  This is only a peak (more to follow)  Enjoy!

Sweet Cheeks

My mother bought this carriage at an antique store when my girls were little.  She "gave" it me to use when I started my studio.  I loved the look of it but, wasn't sure just how I wanted to use it.  I photographed a little guy in it years ago but, didn't really show the beauty of the carriage.  Today I had the pleasure of working with the cutest baby Ever again and her mommy and daddy are game for anything.  So,  Dad took this out into the pasture beside our barn and sweet cheeks here was more than happy to pose in it.  I will post more in a little bit.  Enjoy!

A Little Sunshine

I have been photographing this little lady since I first started photographing people other than my children.  We has an smile that makes me smile.  We chat it up the whole time we are at out session.  And...she says the funniest things.   She and her family have become such good friends and truly enjoy my time with them.  We'll do a get together soon!  Enjoy!

Little Miss Mobile

She is only not yet 8 months but, she can just about anywhere she wants to be.  She has the sweetest little face and loves her mommy but, thinks it's crazy funny when Daddy makes silly noises.  She was a joy to work with.  Here are just a couple sneak looks.   Enjoy!

Little Men

Let's face it...yesterday was a bit yucky.  My family and I went somewhere close to Dover for an Amish auction.  It was windy and wet!!  I had a session scheduled for that afternoon and was afraid the weather was going to cause us to cancel.  We keep the session and boy am I trilled.  These two handsome little men came and we had a blast.  All children are amazing and I love spending time getting to know them and photograph them but, once in a while I get one that God gave a double dose of personality to.  It's almost like God was making them and then got distracted on something else and came back and said Hummm...did I give this one personality yet... oh well I will add it again just in case I didn't.  We had a big time.  The oldest really took me by surprise when I asked him if he was married.  (most kids just giggle and say NO!)  Not him.  He said yeah I am.  Well I couldn't even take the photos cause I was to busy laughing.  There were so many great shots in their session that I had a hard time deciding which ones to put on the blog.  Enjoy!

THAT* Furniture Store

When my husband and I built the studio,  I had in mind what I wanted it to look like.  I knew I wanted a black desk, not to big and not to small.  Something made of wood....real wood!  I looked everywhere I could think of.  We happened to be in Salisbury on day and decided to stop at THAT* furniture store which is owned by Mike and Diane Ringer ( super great people by the way).  I saw exactly what I wanted but, since the studio was just being started Warren told me I had to wait until it was done.  Dang!  So, when it got closer to being done, I went back.  OH NO!! It was gone.  I was so upset.  Not to worry though.  Diane told me they would try to get me another.  YAY!  my hero.  And they did.  That was the beginning and now they are stuck with me.  If you have never had the chance to stop in....DO IT!  I was always curious but,  felt I was to busy to stop and boy am I glad I took the time.  Below are just a few of the great pieces they have in there.  Things change often.  They're pieces are so unique.  I love just going in and looking.  Anyone with great taste will surly find something they just have to have.  But, don't get the red patent leather chair....I have dibs on that one!   Enjoy!

Ultimate Frisbee

Wrenn and I were at Pemberton Park today working with Mike Ringer from THAT* Furniture store again and this was what was going on out there.  I had never heard of ultimate frisbee before but, apparently it's a huge deal.  I ask the team if they would mind me shooting a few shots since I love to try action shots.  There's a lot going on in this....guys running around and I had a hard time figuring out who had the darn thing.  Anyway,  I got a few good shots in.  I need a little practice but, here you go guys.  Enjoy!
