Of course hurricane Irene is causing havoc before she even hits. We had been planning this families shoot for about a month or so now. It's a huge job for mom because of so many different schedules. We had planned on one site but, the weather caused us to change plans. It was all good though. They are such great people and we had tons of fun. We played with crabs, sank in mud, slipped on rocks, watched tug boats go by, and some even pulled up their shirts to show off their bellies (you know who you are). Either way it was fun the whole time. Oh, I did forget to mention that just about the whole time it was spitting rain. With all this going on we still got in some good shots and no one was seriously harmed. The children are super cute and the boys love their grandpa. He is amazing with them so it's no wonder. Enjoy!

Cassidy Taylor-Senior Photographer
Any senior who has been photographed by me knows that I drag you around to all sorts of crazy places just to get something that looks a little different than most. Today was no different. I had poor Cassidy, her mom and sister all over the place in some pretty questionable places (not really) but, some did make us laugh. She's a senior at Sussex Tech and absolutely beautiful. She's a bit of a scaredy cat but, she made it through. The wind and long hair just don't mix so I had her turning in circles practically to get away from it and sometimes she would get her hair just right and before I could take the shot a puff of wind would blow it again. I think they turned out pretty good. Enjoy!

Rissa-Senior Photographer
I don't normally do two sessions at once but, today was an exception. Everyone wants the sunflowers...well not everyone....I haven't had any of the guys want them yet. Rissa came out to join Julia in the field today. They seemed to like the same sort of things. We even hit up the barn and played with the dogs. I am deeply in debt to the farmer who has let me use his fields. It was good to have them both there. I actually put them to work. They did very good. I may have to hire them! Enjoy!
Julia-Senior Photographer
Wow, this has been a really busy couple of weeks. I have meet so many great people and have tons of fun working with them. This is Julia. Another senior. I am amazed at how great these kids are. I don't ever remember kids being so well put together when I was young. Julia is president of her Senior class and would like to become a doctor. I am still trying to figure out what I want to be. We were looking for the clouds to bring us some shade today since we had to do the session in the middle of the day. Not enough time to fit everything in. Some came floating by once in a while and we would jump into action. I get really excited when my subject is having a good time too. Enjoy!
Ian-Senior Photographer
This was the first time that I was serenaded while I was photographing someone. Ian is training in classical guitar. I would have stayed there all day just to listen to him play. We had a good time. I think he laughed at my jokes just to make me feel good. He has a great sense of humor and didn't mind me dragging him around while we talked and it threatened to rain. We finished up just in time. Enjoy!

Shane- Senior Photographer
Again with the rain. We got an early start this morning but, it was still pretty steamy. Shane is the captain of the football team at Sussex Tech and when you get to spend some time with him you can understand why. Not only is he a bit on the big (huge) side but, he is a truly nice person to boot. Speaking of boots, he loves his!! Although dad doesn't think they're fit for church we all agreed they were great for his senior session. I had a great time getting to know him and his mom today. I feel for her...she has a couple others just like him at home. And I think girls are bad. Enjoy!

Mercedes-Senior Photographer
Yummy Watermelon-Mar-Del Photographer
Here she is again right in the middle of her busy time as the Mar-Del Watermelon Queen for 2011-Jordan Calloway. Boy was it breezy out today but it was cloudy too and I love cloudy days for sessions. So off we went to the field to shoot Jordan with "the vines". I know I know she beautiful to look at but this gal is no stranger to farm work. Her family has been farming on the Eastern Shore of Maryland since I was a little girl and that sure wasn't yesterday! She knows just what it takes to get from the seed to the market. We had a blast and I would love to post all of the images that I got today but, if I did that they may not let me come back since some of them were a little silly. Besides I promised my friend Dawn that I won't put the pictures of her in that crazy hat on here but, if anyone wants to see them I will be happy to share! Love ya Dawn! Enjoy!
Fall is Coming!
I was looking through family photos today and came across this one of Wrenn last fall at my brothers market. We hadn't planned on doing this that day, I think we were coming from another shoot when we decided to stop by to visit with him for a bit. This is one some of my favorite shots of her. I love the ones that you aren't planning but, you just can't pass up the opportunity. I thought this might remind everyone that fall is just around the corner and will be here before you know. If you are thinking of family portraits, the fall is a wonderful time to plan it. Enjoy!

Hagley Museum
Sometimes life gives you lemons and it's up to you if you want to go to the trouble to make lemonade. Today...it was lemons. We had to take our youngest up the A.I. Du Pont hospital today for some tests. ( She's ok) We had to be there this morning at 8:00 o'clock. Ugh. After her first appointment (which didn't take as long as they thought it would-good thing) we had 3 hours to spend and walking around the hospital wasn't how we wanted to do it. So, with the help of Hilda, that's what I call my gps we found a fun way to spend that time. Here are a few of what I captured today. Enjoy my lemonade!
Kyle Johnson-Senior Photographer
Kyle is like most senior guys...he's only getting his picture taken because that's what he's suppose to do for his senior year. He's a very serious guy but, I never give up and so I talked the entire time trying to get him to relax. Finally...he did. I think he figured the only way to get this photographer to stop talking was to just do what she wanted. As serious as he may be, you put a fly rod in his hand and he's all yours. He is in his element then and you can really tell. I think he did a great job and it was fun for me as well since I got to do lots of things I had never done as a photographer. Enjoy!
