This sweet baby girl is number 3 to her mommy and daddy.  Brother and sister are about 4 and 2 so you can imagine how busy they are.  I have photographed quite a few newborns now and wanted to see just how different it would be to have a baby just a few days old to photograph compared to one that is a couple of weeks.  Boy,  what a difference a few days can make.  I recently had a mom call for a newborn session of a baby who was about 4 or 5 weeks old...now to me ....that's still a newborn.  However,  in the world of photography,  if you want that sweet little curled up sleepy look then you have to get them into the studio as soon a possible.  My best advice is to contact your studio of choice when you are about 37 weeks along to set up an approximate session date.  I usually tell my moms to text me when they are heading to the hospital.  This way,  I can try to clear a time in my schedule for the new baby.   This baby girl was so wonderful for me.  Big brother didn't want any parts of the whole picture thing but,  her big sister didn't mind at all.  Enjoy!

Katie will be a senior this coming year at Sussex Central High School.  She was on the ball with her senior pictures and called me early in the spring to set up a session time.  We decided to break her session up into a couple different times and locations so that we can make lots of changes and get some great looks.  Here are a few from her first mini session.  Enjoy!

Kim & Scott-Maryland Wedding Photographer

Kim and Scott were married a bit over a week ago on a very warm Spring day.  I always have a great time with every couple I photograph but,  sometimes there are ones that come along that just love to have fun.  Kim called me over a year ago to photograph their wedding.  We met several times and did their engagement session and even their daughters senior session.   Every time I was with them I couldn't  help but  be in a great mood.  They just sweep you along with them.  They are as giddy as two  kids in high school .  They met years ago and even dated but,  time had other ideas...they both married and were single again when they reconnected and the rest is history.  They wasted no time the second  time around in making it official with an engagement.  They work together with everything.  Scott was just as involved with the wedding planning as Kim was.  It was the type of wedding were everyone had a great time,  lots of laughter and tons of hugs.  A true testament to how their family and friends feel about them.  Here a few.  I had to include the silly ones with the mustache and lips because that is a true  image of how this family is going to be.  FUN!  Enjoy!

I'm sure by now that everyone who visits my blog knows how strongly I feel about capturing life's memories for years to come.  There are not to many place that I go where my camera is not at my side.   Today my grand daughter was christened at St. John's Church.  It was a beautiful service and she was a wonderful baby.  Afterwards,  my daughter and her husband gave a brunch for the family to complete the occasion.  Just as we arrived to their home our youngest daughter (who is in love with her baby niece) was outside playing with her.  My husband ( who also is totally crazy about her) grabs her and starts to play with her.  This image is totally on the fly but,  I love it.  I don't even think he knew I was taking it.  He calls her skinny minnie since she is such a petite little thing just like her mommy.

Below is another image I grabbed of a father with his little darling.  I think he calls her munchkin ...I had the pleasure of photographing this little lady a couple of times now and I was amazed at how much she had grown and the vocabulary she had acquired since I last saw her just about 6 short months ago.  There's not a thing or point that she can't get across.  I absolutely love this image as well.  With father's day fast approaching now is the perfect time to have that family portrait taken that you have anyways wanted.  And.....if you didn't get it for mother's day.....you can give it to him for Father's day. We offer gift certificates at the studio and sessions are more reasonable than you would think.  Call the studio with any questions.  410.726.6467  I would love to chat about how I could help you with all of you photography needs.  Enjoy!

Longwood Gardens-May 2012

Wrenn and I had to make our way back up to A.I. Du Pont hospital again this week.  We always try to do a fun and learning thing while we are up there.  I don't like having to travel so far just to see a doctor.  They are wonderful up there and we like them...we just wish we didn't have to know them on a professional level.   Enough of that and on with the good stuff.  One of the last times we were up in that area we visited Hagely Museum and posted those images a while back.   This time we visited Longwood Gardens which is another Du Pont project.  Amazing what you can do with the money you make from gun powder.  I have chosen a few of my favorite images and posted them here.  Unfortunately,  my photography does not do the place justice.  I would highly recommend taking the time to go.  They are starting a new lighting display, that they were working on while we were there,  in mid June.  It looks like it will be amazing and we plan on taking another trip up to see it.  The price is reasonable for what you get.  Enjoy!

Chad Perry-Delaware Senior Photographer

Chad is a senior at Woodbridge High School.  He wants to on and become a high school math teacher. He seems like the type of guy who can do anything he puts his mind to.  He did an awesome job with his senior session.  It was a breeze.  I always get a little worried when I am photographing guys because most of them hate to have their pictures taken.  Here are a few from his session.  Enjoy!

Betsy & Matt- Delaware Maternity Photographer

Betsy and Matt are expecting their first baby in just a few weeks.  When they came for their session I asked what they were getting and Betsy said we have no idea.  They wanted it to be a surprise.  She is almost giddy about this baby.  Matt is so calm but,  I can tell he's just as excited.   Here are a couple from their session.  Enjoy!

Kaitlyn & Justin-Delaware Wedding Photography

Kaitlyn and Justin are getting married in the fall and today we finally got to get together to do an engagement session for them.   Justin is away a lot for work and then we had some yucky weather that made us have to wait but,  FINALLY!  we did it.   I love all of my couples that I get to work with but,  some of them I just have a connection with and that's how it was with the two of them.  I am not really sure how they found me but,  the very first time I talked with Kaitlyn on the phone I felt like I was talking with one of my own daughters.  She gave me her date and I was already booked...darn...then she called me back and said I will change my date if you will be my photographer!  Wow,  I can do that.  So now she's stuck with me and I am so excited to be working with them.  They are naturals!  They just fall into position.  Every photographer dream.   Here are some of my favorites from today.  There are so many to choose from and I hope you guys like the ones I've picked.  Enjoy!

Ponies & Buttercups-Maryland Child Photography

These two sisters love to spend time in the barn,  and after yesterday photographing them,  I can understand why.  They love their ponies, their instructor, and all their friends at the barn.   They give their ponies baths and shine them up better than I do myself at times.  We had a great afternoon in the pasture at Hidden Meadow Farm just outside of Fruitland.  The girls show there ponies during the warmer months and as you can see love it.  Now,  my youngest thinks she needs riding lessons.  Here a few of my favorites.  Enjoy!
