Fun To Be One!-Delaware Child Photography

It's hard to believe that this sweet baby girl is already a year old.  Time truly does fly.  First birthdays are such a big deal for families now a days.  I wish that I had done all of this with my girls.  Smash cakes are so adorable. They start off with just the icing but,  once they realize that this is good stuff ...the whole face gets involved and there is cake and icing everywhere.  Here are some images from her first birthday session.  Mommy and Daddy got in some too.  They adore her.  Enjoy!

Lil Sack of Sugar-Delaware Newborn Photographer

This little guy was pure sweetness.  He's a tiny little thing but,  I can tell by the size of his hands that he isn't going to stay that way. His mommy adores him to no end and I loved spending time with him and capturing memories for his family to treasure and share.  You never realize,  when they are this little,  how much they will change and how quickly.  He has precious little dimples in his chin and on both cheeks...tell me he won't be a charmer some day.  Enjoy!

A Girl & her horses-Delaware Wedding Photographer

Kaitlin is one of "my brides"  as I can the girls when I am photographing their weddings.  I adore her.  She's one of those people who's genuine and loving and knows her own faults and tries hard to fix them but,  doesn't apologize for the way that she is.    Besides all of that she has a wonderful guy who is madly in love with her and she him.  I did their engagement session awhile back but,  she wanted to have a session done with her second loves...her many horses.  She knows them like most folks know people.  She can tell you all about their personalities,  likes,  dislikes and she can get them to do just about anything.  She talks to them like I talk to my girls and I really think they listen...unlike my own.   I wanted to get at least one on that I fell madly in love with.  I promise to post more as I have time.  Enjoy!

A photographers dreams is to have a subject that can just pose.   This young lady could do just that.  I was so amazed...and excited. She had a great choice of outfits and amazing blue eyes.  Such an easy session.  Here are just few of my favorites.  Enjoy!

Jess, Jim & Baby-Delaware Maternity Photographer

As some of my followers may know,  my oldest daughter and I took a trip to Ireland over the summer.  It was an amazing time and I hope to have some time to blog about it with the images I captured at some point but,  life has been super busy since that trip.  These images are what all of that has to do with.   I promised my daughter that trip when she was a freshman at UD getting her biology degree.  While she was there (her senior year)  she met the most amazing guy,  who is now her husband of nearly a year.  She went straight from undergrad to getting her masters so we had to postpone the trip until that was done.....then came the wedding.....then they wanted to start a family so...We decided that we better get that trip in before a baby came or we would never do it.  I think her husband was a bit nervous letting his new wife run off with her seemingly not so bright mother for 2 weeks to a country 8 hours and the total Atlantic away to drive themselves around Ireland but,  being the great guy that he is he let us.  Little did he or us know that we took a little surprise along.  Below are some images of the baby to come!!  Yay.  I knew with all of our children that we would someday have a house full of grandbabies and they are on their way.  Time flies.  Enjoy everyday!  Enjoy!

Alexis Beach Session-Delaware Senior Photographer

I just recently finished up with Alexis's senior session.  So,  I just wanted to blog a few from the many great ones that we got when we ventured to the waterside.  Mom was a huge help yet again and Lexis had the wardrobe thing so under control.  That makes everything so much better.  Here are a few favorites.   Enjoy!

One Little Sister-Delaware Family Photography

Summer's end is a bitter sweet time of year.  We know the colder weather is coming but,  the fall can be so beautiful around here.  It's also one of the busiest time of year for me as a photographer.  It's a great time to get in family photos.   I went with this family recently to have some fun and capture some family memories.  I'm certain there was a football game being missed somewhere but,  everyone was a good sport about it.  Here are a few of my favorites.  Enjoy!

Autumn Grove Horse Show

Yesterday I spent the better part of the day doing something I had never done or seen in person before...a horse show!!   It rained on and off,  hard at times,  so hard that we couldn't even hear ourselves inside the metal building ( arena) at the Autumn Grove Farm just outside of Berlin.  A good friend had asked me come and photograph her two girls and their ponies.  I had visited their stables back in the Spring to photograph the girls then but,  mom wanted them photographed in all their dress things that they ride in.  Can you tell at this point that I don't know much about the world of horse shows.  Of course,  we have our dear little Jack in the backyard but,  we certainly don't ride him much less parade him around at one of these shows.  I feel they would politely ask us to leave.  Anyway,  this a very interesting thing to watch.  There is so much to it.  You have be on the right diagonal,  and lead with the right leg and be sure bounce when the outside leg of the horse is up.  Oh lord!!  And all of this while some huge animal ( and others) are moving under and all around you.  NO Thanks.  But,  it is fun to try and capture it.  I realized early on that it's like anything else,  there is a lot of timing involved.  There are lots of jumps in the arena and the sun kept coming out and going in so I was constantly trying to change my ISO and shutter speed while trying to focus on something that was moving.  UGG.  Here are a few of the ones that I got.  Enjoy!

Last weekend in a wonderful B&B just outside of historic Georgetown,  Jen & Michael made their wedding a charming event.  The home is historical itself and has amazing grounds.  From the beautiful backyard oasis,  where the couple side "We do!"  to the great front yard that was perfect for some group and family shots.  The bride and her family worked side by side to add their own special touch to their  outside venue.  Their reception was held in a large tent just beyond where the ceremony took place.  The bridal suite,  where the girls got ready was large enough for the girls to all move around and for me to take pictures.  I say this because that doesn't always happen.  Jen said she fell in love with it the first time she saw it and I felt the same way.  It was something different and that was exactly what Jen and her mother were looking for.  It turned out the be an extremely warm day to say the least and, while I was melting running around trying to capture everything,  it was nothing compared to the fact that the groom, Michael,  was in his dress blues!!  I was smothering just looking at him.  It didn't seem to bother him at all.  Considering that he has served our country in much hotter circumstances,  made wearing that uniform something to be proud of even on such a warm day.  At one point he and his grandfather ( who also served as a Marine)  saluted one another and thought I would lose it then and there.  Such a wonderful thing to see...tradition passed on from one generation to another.  But,  as you will see from the images,  it wasn't all seriousness going on.  The bridal party had a little too much fun with some of the props and the bride and groom had way to much fun with their cake.  Here is just a sneak peek of their great day.  Enjoy!
