Baby Girl A-Maryland Newborn Photography

Now,  I am photographing  all kinds of baby girls.  This sweet baby girl was so good for her session.   At first she was wide awake but,  with a full tummy and lost of warmth,  she dozed off and smiled up a storm.  I don't ever recall photographing a baby who smiled so much.  Her family and I got so tickled at all the sweet little smiles she gave.  Here are a few of the many cute ones we got.  Enjoy!

Baby S-Delaware Newborn Photography

This sweet little thing was about 4 weeks old when she came to me for her session and she was wide awake.  Try as we may,  we could only get her to sleep for a few precious minutes.  Here are just a couple from her session.  Enjoy!!

Studio Play-Maryland Ballet Photography

Recently,  the Salisbury Dance Academy's owners Elena & Mark Amy purchased the old Maryland National Bank building in historic downtown Salisbury.  When the Amy's first invited us to go and see the future home of the ballet academy,  I was super excited because I love big old buildings.  When I saw the huge two story windows,  my mind began to imagine all the light those windows would let in and how beautiful they were.   I promised Wrenn that I would photograph her and best friend Paleena at the studio when they had a break from classes and rehearsals.  Recently,  we had the opportunity to do it and their friend Jay tagged along.  Here are some of the images we captured.  It was a bit overcast and the sun was beginning to fade so keep in mind....these were just for fun.  Enjoy!!

Shelby Hurley Mar-Del Watermelon Queen 2014

Each year, in February, the Hyatt in Cambridge Maryland is the site for the Mar-Del watermelon convention.  It's an educational weekend for farmers when they meet with seed salesmen,  pallet suppliers,  bin reps, and Agriculture reps from Delaware and Maryland,  to get the latest tips and tricks on growing those yummy Mar-Del watermelons we love to eat during the summer.  Now while the farmers are learning and sharing news,  there are usually a handful of beautiful,  intelligent young women vying for the role of the next Mar-Del Watermelon Queen.  This year was a very difficult year,  in my opinion.  Each one of the contestants had something wonderful to offer and each one was different.  I certainly would not have wanted to be a judge.  When all was said and done,  Miss Shelby Hurley was crowned queen.  We recently got together for her promotional shoot.  Here are just a few from her session.  Be on the look out for Shelby this summer. She'll be out there promoting watermelon and it's benefits every chance she gets.  Bring on the Summer.  Enjoy!!

Baby J-Delaware Newborn Photography

What a little charmer this little man was.  He was such a good boy for his session.  At nearly 4 weeks it can go either way with a session but,  he was wonderful.  He looks as though he is going to have curls and I can't wait to see.  He are some favorites from his session.  Enjoy!!

Baby Girl E-Delaware Newborn Photography

The one thing I have learned about photographing newborns is that there are lots of things you can do to help the session go the way you and the parents would like it to but,  ultimately,  it's all about what the baby wants to do.  I always tell my new parents that patience is the name of the game.  I let them know ahead of time that it could be a waiting game.  Sometimes the baby will sleep and let you put different hats and headbands on them and put them in buckets and baskets.  Other times they are checking out what's going on and don't want to miss anything.  This sweet little thing was one of those who didn't want to sleep at first but,  good things come to those who wait.   Mom, Dad and I chatted while we waited her out.  She was good the whole time,  she just wasn't sleepy.  Once she fell asleep she was my little model.  What a cutie.  Thanks mom and dad for sticking it out with me.  I think it was worth it.  Enjoy!
