Happy Birthday!!!-Maryland Portrait Photography

This sweet girl is having a birthday!!  I have watched her grow for the past 6 years and she is so funny and wise beyond her years.  Her mama teaches dance at Salisbury Dance Academy where my daughter attends.  She would busy herself playing while her mama was teaching.  We moms in the lobby would listen and pretend along with her as she put on skits and make pretend parties for us.  I miss the days.  Age tends to do that.  Now on to another chapter in her life where she becomes an amazing dancer and great role model for her peers and the younger dancers coming along.  Her mother gifted her with a photo shoot of her own.  What a great memory for this time in her life.  She is older today then she has ever been and the youngest she will ever be.  Enjoy and embrace these days for they are over before we realize.  A few favorites as always.  Enjoy!!

Pancakes, Anyone??-Delaware Dance Photography

Many thanks go out to Applebee's of Salisbury for helping out the young dancer from the First Position Dance Troupe of Salisbury the fine Sunday morning.  The girls were up bright and early to help get ready to serve family, friends, and some die hard past dance members (Brooke and Drew).  It was a great experience for all of us and everyone left with some full tummies.   The folks at Applebee's were amazing to work and very understand with our crazy endless questions.  The girls are raising money for their performance trip that is planned for Jan/Feb of 2015.  Enjoy!!

DANCER

The job of a photographer can be a bit difficult at times.  You can see in your mind what you want to get but, the hard part is making the light, subject and camera all come together to capture the idea.  Ballet has been a part of my life since I was about five.  First, with myself and then my daughters.  I love the whole idea of it.  To watch the ballerinas and the music, the whole thing is just moving to me.  I had to chance to photograph this young dancer today.  Her father had an idea of what he wanted his image to look like (this from a man who does not dance) but, it was his baby girl and he wanted something special.  We got lots of wonderful shots in but, the one below brought her mother to tears.  I love to make people cry.  In a good way of course.  That's when I know I have done what was expected of me.  Enjoy!
