Congratulations go out to the 2012 Mar-Del Watermelon Queen, Terra Tatman. During a competitive competition in early February, Terra was crowned the 2012 Queen. These girls get to travel all over during the Spring and Summer to teach about and promote watermelons. They visit many states for that state convention and even visit capital hill to meet with state legislators and discuss issues that affect our local farming communities. The Mar-Del queens have a huge responsibility that comes along with that crown they get to wear. These girls are not just pretty faces. They are very well spoken, extremely bright and ambitious young ladies.
