Finally!!! We have a beautiful day. The girls were walking in the woods (trying to find the cat) when they came upon this young owl. At first, we thought that it may be hurt, so we called several different places to see what could be done. We were finally connected with the tristate bird rescue group in New Castle Delaware. They told us that it is probably a fledgling who has left the nest. Apparently, they fly/drop from the nest to the ground and spend their time there while they are perfecting their flying skills. The mama and papa will feed them on the ground until they can fly and hunt for themselves. This was such a neat learning experience for all of us and I thought that my viewer might enjoy our little story. Enjoy!
